SUNDAY SERVICESSunday, May 9, 2021
Sara Gush, guest preaching "The Nature of Nurture" This Sunday, Sara Gush will preach on "nurture". She will explore the "nature of nurture": can we reconsider nurture as not uniquely ascribed to particular roles, but a quality we each possess? Sara will suggest that there are ways in which we--all of us--nurture one another, ourselves, our environment, and our community. Sara Gush is a Chaplain Resident at Duke University Hospital and Candidate for Unitarian Universalist Ministry. Sara's spirit is nurtured in solitude and community; she enjoys spending time outdoors and with loved ones. MUSIC NOTES: This Sunday, Bianca Rodriguez, with help from Amy Shaub Maddox, will sing a wonderful new song by Alicia Keys. Originally written for Alicia's mother, it has become an anthem for essential workers and others who work so selflessly to help us get through this trying time.

WE ARE A WELCOMING CONGREGATION
We are a congregation that has historically stood for the civil rights of all people, especially those affected by racism and homophobia. We are a Welcoming Congregation, celebrating and affirming the active presence in our congregation of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and heterosexual members and friends and their families. We are actively engaged in dialogue about how to be a more racially diverse, multicultural, anti-oppressive congregation. |
SUNDAY PARKING (when in-person worship resumes): Please honor the parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities and limited mobility at the front of the church, as well as the spaces reserved for the Auction Winners. We encourage folks to carpool and/or park offsite, if at all possible. Parking is available at The Community Church, as well as alternate parking options. Click here for a map. Please note: parking is not allowed at the Kehillah across the street.
WEEKDAY PARKING: The large lot is fully rented; please use the small lot directly in front of the church, the wooded lot along Purefoy Road, or in the lot behind the church.
