Community Church Music Team

Mission
  • The Music Team envisions a music program that assists all members and friends of the church in experiencing deepened personal connections. We support the idea that music enlarges worship and enriches congregational life.
  • The Music Team supports, makes budgetary requests on behalf of, and promotes the Music Program at The Community Church, in accordance with the vision of the Music Director.

Responsibilities
  • The Music Team meets periodically with the Music Director to plan, review, discuss and modify all aspects of the program. 
  • The Music Team coordinates, along with the Music Director, special music services, the annual Music Gala, the biennial church musical, and other musically centered projects.
  • The Music Team gathers congregational input regarding the Music Program and works with the Music Director to modify program activities as indicated. 
  • The Music Team Chair participates as a member of the Church Council.
  •  The Music Team acts in close concert with Worship Ministry and the Minister in reviewing and refining the worship experience in accordance with the church visioning process.
  • The Music Team takes a lead role in interviewing and recommending the Music Director when needed.​


​​​Membership
  • Membership is voluntary, and comes from the members and friends of the church. It is open to anyone who has an interest in the Music Program.
  • The Music Team usually consists of the Chair and 4-6 members, plus the Music Director. Effort is made to have members that fully represent the church, consisting not only of those involved with the choirs and instrumental groups at the church, but members representing Children’s Religious Education, the Concerts Committee, and a “consumer” member not affiliated with any church musical activities.
  • Length of service is not predetermined. Music Team Chair serves at the discretion of the church board and typically serves 2-3 years.

Meetings
  • The Music Team will be every 6 weeks during the church year, and as needed for special events. Agenda and minutes to be composed and distributed by the Chair.
  • Most proceedings will be public except in cases of hiring or church personnel actions.​
