What "Membership" Means
Becoming a Member of our congregation consists of attending an Exploring Membership class, signing the Membership Book, and making a pledge. In doing so you are committing to be an active participant in our religious community and to support the Community Church mission with a pledge of your time, talents, and financial resources. Members have the right to vote on matters such as approving ministers, amending by-laws, and adopting strategic plans.
We currently have 410 Members. We have 69 Associates of the church, or people who support the church through a financial contribution but choose not to be Members at this time. In addition, there are 175 children and youth enrolled in our Religious Education programs.

The Path to Membership
Attend an "Exploring Membership" Class
If you are interested in becoming a Member, the first step is to attend an "Exploring Membership" class. The Minister and the Membership Director hold these classes throughout the year. Each class consists of two 75-minute sessions. These classes will help you learn more about Unitarian Universalism, our unique congregation, and what it means to be a Member. You'll receive your very own copy of the Unitarian Universalist Pocket Guide, and we can answer any questions you might have. Even if you are a long time Unitarian Universalist, this is a chance to learn about our church and begin to connect with this community. Check our weekly announcements or website to find out when the next class will be held and sign up.
Make a Pledge
It is a requirement of our congregation that Members pledge to support the programs and operations of the church. The role of the church in your life and your own financial situation are the most important considerations in determining what amount to contribute. The goal is for everyone in our community to participate and to feel good about their pledge. You can learn more about pledging here.
Sign Our Book
The next step is to sign our Membership Book with either the Minister or the Membership Director. You can sign the book at the class, any Sunday with the Membership Director, or with the Minister by appointment. We'll give you some New Member information, answer any remaining questions you may have, and invite you to the next New Member Recognition and Reception.
Attend A New Member Recognition and Reception
Throughout the year, we hold special services to recognize new Members. We hope you can join us for this short, sweet ceremony as well as a reception with the Minister and the Membership Team later that day.
