*Side With Love (Standing on the Side of Love) works with our church and community to mobilize advocacy for justice, wherever and whenever we can. Each year we offer one or more concerts to benefit social justice.
Resilience and Heroism --a Classical Concert for a Cause
Sunday, March 29 3:00 p.m.
at the Community Church of Chapel Hill
The two contrasting compositions on the program, the Trio for Flute, Cello and Piano (H300) by Bohuslav Martinu and the Cello Sonata in F Major, Op. 6 by Ricard Strauss, exemplify the best of the human spirit. Join us to support the Immigrant Justice Initiative at Community Church, and enjoy the ebullience of Martinu following his escape from Paris during the Nazi invasion and the triumphant, youthful energy of Ricard Strauss, at the beginning of his creative life. The musicians are Debbie Davis, cellist, a member of C3HUU, Deborah Hollis, pianist and Brooks de Wetter-Smith, emeritus professor of flute at UNC-Chapel Hill. The Immigrant Justice Initiative accompanies asylum seekers finding their way in a new land and is currently supporting a mother and six children. Reserve a place for the concert here-- in person or livestream. For more information contact the Side With Love ministry team.
