Our Side With Love (SWL) Ministry offers members and friends ways to live our faith, raise a collective voice to call for justice, and to get our feet on the street when love and justice demand action. In this way we serve the mission of our church to nurture spiritual growth, support and care for each other, and effect change.
The SWL leadership (“Love Team”) meets each month on Zoom for mutual support, information sharing and future planning. The SWL task force groups meet as needed to accomplish their work. If you would like to learn more about SWL, email us and let us know your interests. Look for us when we have a table at Social Hour, or watch for invitations to action in the church weekly announcements.
We support and are supported by UU Justice NC, whose mission is to joyfully organize UUs in North Carolina in a transformative movement for justice. UU Justice NC hosts weekly Zoom Action Hours to address critical issues every Friday at 11:00am via Zoom, and posts weekly action alerts for those who cannot join the action hour. There is also a Rapid Response Team for persons willing to show up at important rallies, protests and vigils in our state's Capitol.
