Stewardship
“Celebrating 60 years of Congregational Stewardship!”
Our church is not just another charity that seeks and warrants your financial support. Often when we give money to causes we support we write a check and hope that others do the work necessary. But the money you pledge here provides you with the opportunity to actualize your dreams and values. You can sing, you can stand on the side of love, you can put your faith into action, you can grow spiritually and you can care for others and our sacred space.
On Stewardship Sunday, March 10, we are celebrating what we do programmatically in the Community Church of Chapel Hill Unitarian Universalist that merits our money as well as our time and talents. We celebrate our great worship services, inspiring music, social action in the world, spiritual education and growth for all ages, and caring for each other. The service fair, held after the service in the Jones Building, provides us with a visible, tangible reminder of the work and possibilities that your financial contribution and your time make possible.
As responsible caring members and associates of the Community Church of Chapel Hill Unitarian Universalist we are called to contribute our time, our talent and our money. The fact that we may volunteer or participate in our programs and ministries does not lesson our financial responsibilities. Indeed, it is through our participation that we come to realize the value and importance of pledging.
The annual pledge drive is a time of reflection, promise and celebration. We invite you to join with your other congregants in the Jones Building after today’s service to reflect on what we have done together and can do next year. To help you reflect more concretely on what you and your family need or want over the coming year we encourage you to review, complete and return both the Stewardship Pledge Card and the Financial Pledge Card. If you have financial hardship we ask that you still complete the Financial Pledge Card where you can note financial hardship. And finally, we invite all those who turn in their Financial Pledge Card to join in our 60th Anniversary Stewardship Celebration on Friday night, April 19 where we will enjoy and celebrate the talent in our community. If you have a talent to perform we encourage you to sign up at the Stewardship table to participate. We will have prizes, food, drink and activities for children in this family friendly event. We hope you will join us.
In gratitude,
Your Stewardship Team
