Covenant Groups

COMMITMENT to a shared spiritual journey
In CONNECTION with others
In beloved COMMUNITY
Are you seeking a closer connection to other church members? One that goes beyond coffee hour chit-chat and explores some of the major issues of life? If so, then joining a Covenant Group may be what you're looking for....
Covenant Groups provide each group member an opportunity to develop connections within the church, as well as to explore some of the major issues of life. A typical meeting combines centering readings, personal check-ins and individual sharing focused on a particular theme.
The meeting will last 1.5-2 hours.
What is a Covenant Group?
Covenant Groups provide each group member an opportunity to develop connections within the church, as well as to explore some of the major issues of life. A typical meeting combines centering readings, personal check-ins and individual sharing focused on a particular theme. Members agree on how they will relate to each other-- a covenant. What unites the members is a desire for connection with others and a deeper spiritual connection in their lives. Our groups have 7 to 10 members with a trained facilitator. Traditional covenant groups meet monthly at a regular time for 1.5 to 2 hours.

"The art of listening is neither careless drifting on the one hand nor fearful clinging on the other. It consists in being sensitive to each moment, in regarding it as utterly new and unique, in having the mind open and wholly receptive." ~Alan Watts
"Deep listening requires that we make a conscious decision to put ourselves aside and be fully present to another. We empty ourselves of judgments, thoughts and opinions, simply opening space for the other to unfold. It is really a sacred experience, if you will, a time of oneness with another. We can practice deep listening to ourselves in the same way...quieting our minds, letting go of our judgments and allowing our deepest knowings and thoughts to arise." ~Barbara Green, founder of "Listening For Life"
