Upcoming and Ongoing Events at Church ECO Home Page
- October 15: Discussion of Green Features in Church Building Plans. Each Sunday through Nov. 12, the Building on Our Legacy task force will offer 20-30 minute informal discussion groups on different aspects of the building plans. Come hear about green features and share your ideas! In the Community Room; look for the large poster and a group of chairs. It's a great way to ask questions and provide input.
- Composting Food Waste is one way we can grow greener, by keeping food out of the landfill and returning it to the soil. There is now a compost bucket in the kitchen that we can all use at church events, and a compost bin outside the back door of the Community Building (the door nearest the Administrative wing), at the edge of the backyard by the new fence. All food except meat, bones, and grease can be composted. After your event, simply empty the compost bucket into the bin and, if you can, throw in a handful of dry leaves. Please rinse out the bucket when you are done. For more information about composting, click here: http://www.orangecountync.gov/departments/solid_waste_management/mulch_and_compost.php.
